PDO Thread Lift

A PDO Thread Lift is an excellent and effective cosmetic technique to lift and tighten sagging skin tissues. It re-defines facial contours and induces collagen production resulting in a lifting effect that is at its peak 6 months after treatment and can last for 2-3 years dependant on lifestyle.

A needle is inserted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin, and when it is taken out, the threads remain implanted in the skin. Insertion of dozens of needles to the deeper layer of skin with absorbable threads activates the natural regeneration process and stimulation of wound healing and tissue contraction.

The thread will form an integrated support structure for the tissue of the face due to collagen synthesis.

Mono, Screw and Cog Threads

Mono, Screw and Cog Threads are the most recent development in PDO Thread Lift technology and incorporate a cog or barb on the thread inducing a higher inflammatory reaction than standard threads which achieves a more visible and longer lasting effect after a single treatment.

Frequently Asked

Which areas are treatable using Thread Therapy?

Upper and lower cheeks, foreheads (brow lifting), jawline, neck, naso-labial folds and marionette lines.

What is Thread Therapy good for treating?

PDO threads can very effectively strengthen the contour of the face, reduce roundness, lift sagging skin in the cheeks, jowls, neck and also produce an excellent brow lift.

They are also very effective for skin rejuvenation and enhance skin tone and tighten pores.

What should I expect during the procedure?

Local anaesthetic is injected into the treatment area. The PDO thread will then be introduced using a cannula or micro-needle in the required area. The procedure takes around 45-60 minutes, depending on the treatment you will require.

With PDO threads you will be able to resume your everyday routine and social commitments almost straight away but with the more inflammatory Mono, Screw and Cog Threads you may prefer a couple of days down time and discomfort may be felt for a number of days after treatment.

Can I have Thread Therapy as well as Botox and Fillers?

Yes all of these treatments can compliment each other.

Am I a good candidate for Thread Therapy?

The best candidates are men and women who are beginning to experience the appearance of wrinkles on the forehead, drooping of the brow, sagging of the mid and lower face, visible jowls and loose skin on the neck.

Are there any side effects with Thread Therapy?

PDO thread lifting is a very safe procedure and complications are extremely rare. Minor complications may include temporary swelling and bruising. Patients who have Mono, Screw and Cog Threads may also feel slight tightness or a pulling sensation following the treatment but this subsides over a few weeks.
